The 2010 theme at Unity Church of Fresno is “Empowering People and Manifesting Dreams" . Having just returned from a two-week restful, rejuvenating and renewing cruise to Hawaii (I’m writing this letter in December 2009), during which I spent a good deal of time contemplating and exploring the the deeper question of ... am I living fully in the awareness of who I have come here to be? Think about it. Everyday walls are built, hearts break, children hurt, nations and people suffer. Do you ever wonder who is the one to bring peace, love and understanding? Could you be the one? I invite you to consider with me:
Whether you are living fully in the awareness of who you have come here to be?
What if being who you have come here to be is to be more interested in your spiritual purpose, rather than in your job or the outer evidence of fulfillment?
Could it be that 2010 is the year for deeper transformation for you, as I feel it is for me?
As you might imagine, in response to my questioning, the Universe graciously provided me with some inspiring answers mainly through a workbook by the title of “The Art and Practice of Living With Nothing and No One Against You” co-authored by Rev. Gary Simmons and Rima Bonario. The underlying premise of the workbook is that life can only be against who you are not.” In other words life is like a mirror, it reveals how you are showing up. If you are showing up as unworthiness, inadequacy, or fearful, life will reflect that back to you as your experience, but that is not who you are, that is who you are not.
We are dedicating this year to empowering each of us with classes, programs and activities that are designed to support you in unlocking the gifts, beauty, intelligence and capacities within as you consciously, if you choose, practice and participate in your own evolution and unfoldment. I invite each of you to join me in asking ourself, “Am I the one?” What if you becoming awake, becoming evolved is what the world is depending on? What if in deep listening, you hear the voice within saying, “You are the one.” As someone has said, “If not now, when? If not you, who?” Come join us in this awesome adventure of exploration and discovery.
